THE ABSURD OBSCURITY OF THE “MODERN WITCH”
Another Reality Check. . .The so-called stigma that still surrounds modern-day witches is a joke. The shame isn’t on witchcraft. The shame is on the performance of it.

You've seen them across social media. The aesthetics. The smoky-eye, vampire-glam, candle-lighting fluff that tries to pass for mystical depth. These idiots are spending good money only to appear magical to the untrained eye. All of that, write-a-name-on-a-leaf,-sprinkle-it with-salt-and-pepper,-and-burning-it-to-a-catchy-song IS ALL FOR LIKES! REAL WITCHERY MOVES IN SILENCE - IT IS NOT A BROADCAST. What they're doing is comedic at best.
The truth? Real witchcraft never needed theatrics. Real practitioners have never needed to look scary — power speaks for itself, so let’s go more Stevie Nicks, less mall-goth-emo vampire cosplay. Lmmfao. I mean as a style, yea ok, BUT NOT TO BE LINKED WITH ACTUAL OCCULTISM. Our black attire has long been associated with the infinite void and dark matter, so wearing black has become a protective measure among women worldwide; the hijabs, burkas, nuns, and priests are all often seen in black.
So let’s go ahead and trim the fat and talk about the actual archetypes of real witches — because there are only two types that exist in real life. Everything else is costume jewelry, mood lighting, and imagination.
AGAIN: THERE ARE ONLY 2 REAL TYPES OF WITCHES IN THIS WORLD, and the levels they grow through. And although people love complexity, the truth is really actually simple: There are only two types of real witches — the ones who ARE, and the ones who PRETEND. Among the ones who ARE, there are three ascending levels of power, and only a microscopic fraction of people ever develop past the first.
Why? Because there’s no money in it — and the modern world worships one god: currency. But before we get to the death of magic, let’s lay out the hierarchy:
◇ LEVEL 1: The Charismatic
This is the witch who doesn’t need a cauldron or chanting — they enchant through presence. A Charismatic witch works with voice, eyes, scent, timing, and the kind of confidence that rearranges the oxygen in the room. They don’t cast spells. They ARE the spell and this is the entry point. Most people who have “witch vibes” end up here and stop. Not because they lack talent — but because society tells them to monetize their charm instead of cultivate their gifts.
◇ LEVEL 2: The Green
This is the practitioner who uses botanicals, herbs, roots, plants, oils, teas, flavor, chemistry, garden craft, and cooking to shape the energy around them. Healing. Attracting. Soothing. Repelling. Strengthening. Weakening. They don’t need smoke and mirrors — they use nature, and nature always answers back. These are your potion makers, your kitchen witches, your herbologists, your old-world healers — the ones whose grandmothers had jars that did more than season food. This is power through the living world.
◇ LEVEL 3: The Clairvoyant
This is the rarest. This is the one who perceives what other people walk past blindly. The Clairvoyant is the witch with actual extrasensory perception. Auras. Vibrations. Shifts in energy. Premonition. Spiritual resoresonance. All of this is not “intuition.” This is a second sight. The Clairvoyant doesn’t guess — they know. A Clairvoyant is both assertive and demure, light and dark, and good and evil in all things.
Few reach Level 3 not because it’s impossible, but because it requires discipline, isolation, inner work, and the activation of the pineal pathways most of society keeps calcified, exhausted, or spiritually numb.
WE ARE CAPABLE OF ALL THREE — BUT MOST NEVER BUILD THE MUSCLE. Humans are born with dormant psychic hardware. Every one of us could theoretically climb the ladder.
But here’s the problem:
There is no paycheck in spiritual development. And this society? It runs on money. Money becomes the focus, the obsession, the motivator — the replacement religion. So people chase rent, not resonance. It’s not that the gifts disappeared — it’s that humanity stopped tending them.
THE MYTH: “MAGICK AND MIRACLES DIED WITH TECHNOLOGY.”
No, they didn’t. People stopped practicing them because WiFi pays better than wisdom. The digital age didn’t kill magic; the pursuit of economic stability did. Nobody wants to be a pauper. Nobody wants to be the starving sage or the mystical monk living off berries in the woods. Same problem then, same problem now — don’t nobody wanna be broke. GTFOH with the fantasy that someone is going to choose spellwork when their rent is due on the 1st. Yeah, okay, let me pray to Hecate to help me find a way to pay my own bills. 😒
If society actually valued magic, intuition, healing, and multidimensional awareness — the world would be full of Level 3 Clairvoyants. But it doesn’t. We have bullshitters using digital visuals to call themselves "influencers" instead.
Aaaaand then there's the Tarot aesthetic instead of tarot power. It's all vibes instead of vision.
AND SO, THE SLOW DEATH OF WITCHCRAFT CONTINUES…
Despite the fact that society still DESPERATELY needs the hands of the Green, the insight of the Clairvoyant and the influence of the Charismatic!
The CATCH-22
People default to practicality instead of potential But, magicK didn’t vanish. It was abandoned. And witchcraft didn’t die, it was forced to downsize. So, as the world continues to spin around — in all its chaos, loneliness, and disconnect — we too will continue on generation after genetation still starving for the touch of those who could change it. And there it is. True sorcerers are cloaked in debt and shrouded in nine-to-fives unable to fully live as nature intended. So, it' not that "magic isn't real ", it's that society has been monetized to the point of no return and we are all forced to play along.
