Be Advised: a clear, focused intention is paramount with any spell and/or ritual! It's important to not have any distractions, turn your cell to DND or airplane mode until finished. • Mix your oils¹, set aside, do not refrigerate.

• Write out your carefully worded intention on a loose piece of paper and set it aside. (Pencil is suggested, as graphite is more forgiving to correct than permanent ink.)

• Charge your crystals.

— The Day Of:

MAINTAIN POSITIVE ENERGY.

• Brew, steep, and strain your elixir, then set it aside. (It is to be taken warm or at room temperature—not cold.)

• Burn your herbs along with your written intention. Breathe in the aroma, let the smoke ascend to your face, and salvage the ashes.

• Place your enchanted candles on either side of your mixing bowl. Position your crystal(s)³ at the head of the bowl, facing outward at the 12 o'clock placement.

• Have your elixir and oil mixture at the 6 o'clock position—closer to you—ready for use.

👉 The Plan of Action: Ring your bell.

• Dip your fingers in the herbal resin (or pour, depending on how much you made), and trace a circle around yourself and your protective ritual setup.

• Light your candles² (and camphor, if available).

• Begin by reciting your personal affirmation, followed by your customized protection spell.

• Anoint your dry, clean mane with essential oils¹ while again reciting your affirmation and protection wording.

• Again, sound the bell—prior to drinking.

• Touch your glass or cup to each candle flame and drink the entire amount of your herbal moon water in large gulps until empty.

• Repeat inwardly as needed. (Save outward oration for group settings.) Stretch up and out as far as possible.

¹ Oil Notes: Olive oil is highly recommended as the carrier oil in this instance. The amount needed will be equivalent to a standard bottle of water (roughly 16 oz). Olive oil will carry the Sea Buckthorn Berry oil, along with sandalwood and lavender oils—all of which are relatively low on the comedogenic scale and can be absorbed by the hair follicles straight into the nervous system! Aaaah, science! Refer to the chart illustration borrowed from Mountain Rose Herbs.com; use it as a guide. In my case, I added 1/2 Tsp of sandalwood and Sea Buckthorn berry and 1 whole tsp of lavender EO's to my 16 ounces of olive oil. You tilt your head back and carefullu pour the mixture unto your hair, saturating it and massaging it into your scalp so as to be sure that every strand is touched by oil. Wring out excess.

² Candle Notes: If using electronic candles, proper storage is highly recommended—especially if they’re going to be used for the same purpose in the future.

³ A few crystals that can be used for protective purposes: Jade, Citrine, moonstone, amethyst, lapis lazuli, obsidian, smoky quartz, selenite. Also, precious metal, such as gold and silver can be used to substitute crystals and if in the event you don't have any precious metals, an iron nail will do or a couple of copper pennies would suffice as well.
